Please find below the list of error and warning messages that may be generated by the mEDRA system when the records are sent to Crossref.

If error messages are generated, the DOI will not be created/updated in mEDRA and the record will not be sent to Crossref.

If warning messages are generated, the DOI will be created/updated in mEDRA and the record will be sent to Crossref applying the rules in the description.

mec_10003 SerialPublication must contain at least one Title element with TitleType with a 01 (full title) value. Enter at least one full title for the journal. A, I, J
mec_10004 The DOI record must contain at least one ProductIdentifier element with ProductIDType with a 07 value (ISSN) or ProductIdentifier element with ProductIDType with a 06 value (DOI). Enter the journal ISSN or the journal DOI, if no ISSN is available. A, I

mec_10012 The KeyNames element value (including spaces, digits and ?) is empty. Check the surname and enter a value that is valid and smaller than 61 characters. A, M, C

mec_10020 The DOI record does not contain an ImprintName or a PublisherName with PublishingRole 01 or both. Enter the name of the publisher of the book or the imprint or both. M, C
mec_10022 The value of the book DOI is the same as the chapter DOI. Check that the DOI of the chapter has not been entered also as book DOI. Remove the wrong DOI. C
mec_10023 The value of the journal DOI is the same as the issue DOI. Check that the DOI of the issue has not been entered also as journal DOI. Remove the wrong DOI. I
mec_10024 The ISSN-L string in the IDValue element contains a syntax error. Enter a valid ISSN-L code A, I, J
mec_10025 The submission file contains DOI records with multiple prefixes. Split the submission file into multiple files, each with a single prefix. All DOI records in a single submission must have the same prefix. A, I, J, M, C
mec_10026 The DOI record contains more than 10 PublicationDate elements. Only the first 10 are selected. Enter maximum 10 PublicationDate for the book. M
mec_12000 ArticleCitation contains one DOI element exceeding 2048 characters. Check the DOI entered in the citation. Enter a DOI less than 2049 characters in length. A, M, C, mC
mec_12001 The same DOI element value appears in multiple DOICitations records. Check that the same DOI has not been entered in several records by mistake. Enter only one record with citations to be added/updated for each DOI. mC
